Ansell Lighting is delighted to have featured in another award winning display at the Southport Flower Show. Following last year’s success, C&W Berry, with a garden created by Kirman Landscapes, were awarded a total of four awards. The Southport Flower Show is the UK’s largest independent flower show, attracting over 50,000 visitors every year, featuring stunning show gardens, the finest flower and vegetable displays and specialist foods.
This year, C&W Berry created a garden that was their take on the Curious Garden theme. This was a huge success with the judges who awarded it a Large Gold Medal, The Pontins Trophy for Best Outside Garden, Southport Corporation Trophy for Best Large Garden and The Brian Aughton Memorial award for Best Use of Plants.
Head of Lighting Design at Ansell Lighting Ken Chua said.
“The key objective was to achieve a soft, minimalistic effect with the lighting. With the garden being partially concealed inside a cube they wanted to create an air of mystery and I believe the lighting provided helps achieve that.
“Lux levels were an important consideration, the Concho was chosen to add an ambient background effect whilst the Laser LED was chosen to illuminate certain parts of the garden. We are delighted that it has won four awards at the Southport Flower Show and to have been part of this great project.”
Concho is our IP65 AC led strip. Providing up to 1100lm per metre, the Concho offers a versatile and flexible solution. It was an ideal way of adding extra layers of concealed light to the garden. Our Laser LED is a high performance LED in ground uplight with a die-cast aluminium construction offering excellent directional ability to highlight specific areas or objects.
C&W Berry and Kirman Landscapes did a fantastic job in utilising light when creating their, quite frankly, stunning garden. We always enjoy seeing our products at the Southport Flower Show and this year was no different.
